Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe (Portsmouth, Tottenham Hotspur and England)

This unique duo can play claim to the fact they have enjoyed each other’s company in three separate team set-up’s – for Portsmouth, Tottenham Hotspur and also at international level for England.

You’ve guessed it; Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch have proved quite the little and large combo up top firstly for Pompey whom they crossed paths with one another during the 2008/09 season when Defoe joined the Fratton Park-based outfit in January 2008.

Crouch was to join the south coast outfit just seven months later and in the 2008/09 campaign before Defoe fled back to Spurs in January 2009, the duo struck 20 league goals between them in a struggling side that went on to finish 14th in the Premier League that term.

Crouch was then to follow in Defoe’s footsteps and joined Tottenham in July 2009 whereby the pair continued to work in tandem, ironically under Harry Redknapp in a three way love in.
