When everyone starts a new job, the last thing they want to hear about is well the person you’re being drafted in to replace, used to perform.
Indeed, far from just being applicable to impeccable former employees and your partner’s ex, football managers have to put up with it worse than anyone else. Imagine having not one or two, but tens of thousand of people measuring you up against one of the old boy’s? It can’t be a good thing, and for these ten, it was an insurmountable hurdle.
