Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost ahead of playing Leicester City in quick succession, with hotshot striker Jamie Vardy potentially missing both games due to injury, according to The Guardian.
The England international has been a revelation this season as the Foxes have massively overachieved, with the former non-league striker hitting 15 Premier League goals so far this campaign.
However, Vardy is struggling for fitness and has been forced to undergo a minor groin operation after toiling in recent matches.
As such, the Englishman is set to miss this weekend’s FA Cup clash with the North London side at White Hart Lane and is a major doubt for the Premier League game at the same venue on Wednesday night.
Spurs have big ambitions this season and will feel that a FA Cup run would be another positive in an excellent season to date.
Leicester are in second place, four points ahead of Tottenham currently, and as such Mauricio Pochettino’s men will see the league clash as an ideal opportunity to move closer to the table’s summit.
