Arsenal have been handed the intiative in a summer chase for Lyon hot-shot Corentin Tolisso after Italian giants Juventus cooled their interest, according to French newspaper L'Equipe (via Sport Witness).

What's the word?

It had been taken as a given by most outlets that Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso would be joining Serie A leaders Juventus this summer, however, it seems that the Italian side have had a shift in their summer plans this season and cooled their interest somewhat.

Whilst this is not to say that a move to Turin is completely off the table, it does hand Arsenal a golden chance they previously would have thought gone.

Having already snubbed a move to Napoli it seems that the Premier League may be a preferred destination for the 22-year-old, who is rated at £30m, who is looking for a stage on which to showcase his talents ahead of the Russia World Cup next year.

Should Wenger pursue the deal, Sport Witness suggest that it would prove he is willing to shake up his midfield somewhat this summer.

Ramsey 2.0?

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has clearly benefited from the manager's recent shift to a back three, having been given the freedom to get forward more often and create for those ahead of him.

However, with Tolisso having scored 14 and setup a further six from midfield so far this season, Wenger may be looking for an upgrade on the Welshman, who has never seemed the same player after troubles with injury.
