17-year-old English forward Connor Wickham scored his first ever Championship hat-trick for Ipswich in the 6-0 drubbing of Doncaster Rovers.
Wickham, who incidentally made his first senior debut against Doncaster Rovers back in April 2009, struck twice from open play – in the 42nd and 61st minutes – before sealing an impressive trio of goals with an 89th minute spot kick.
The 1.91m-tall wonderkid was an IMScouting Player to Watch in June 2010 and has since progressed tremendously in an Ipswich shirt, appearing 58 times to date for the Championship outfit in the league and domestic cups.
The England U-21 striker, who has played for Ipswich at youth level since 2006, recently extended his contract with the Tractor Boys to 2013.
But with performances like these, and in light of interest from the likes of Premier League pair Arsenal and Newcastle, Ipswich face the difficult task of holding on to the precocious talent.
