Far from the career-long criticism of failing to nurture young players through to first-team level, Jose Mourinho currently has not one but two of Europe's most exciting young forwards vying for a spot in Manchester United's starting XI.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have both shown how influential they can be in the final third already this season, largely sharing left wing duties between them, and it was the latter who shined last night with a potent display against CSKA Moscow - grabbing one goal and two assists.

In fairness, the France international - who Transfermarkt value at £27million - netted via the penalty spot, while one of his assists owed much to some calamitous defending from the home side and the other hinged on a sensational leap from Romelu Lukaku.

Yet, Martial's output didn't flatter what was a very impressive display from the 21-year-old; he created the most chances and recorded the most dribbles of any United player while completing 84% of his passes, highlighting the relentless problems he caused the CSKA defence.

In any case, Martial's performance has given Mourinho a very nice problem to have ahead of a home clash with Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday - whether it's him or Rashford selected, United look set to cause the Eagles huge damage from the left wing.
