Recent reports have alleged that Arsenal are looking to bolster their defensive ranks with the addition of Roma defender Kostas Manolas, who could end-up costing the Gunners a club-record fee if he were to move.

Instead of moving on Deadline Day, a deal would go ahead in the summer and Arsenal are said to have agreed terms with the Greek defender. However, many will debate whether the 25-year-old is genuinely worth such a large transfer outlay.

Arsenal were keen on signing the player before he moved to Rome and their interest will have persisted through his impressive performances in Italian football, with his numbers this season looking particularly impressive.

With an 88% passing accuracy over his 18 appearances this season, Manolas would certainly fit into Arsenal's style of football. On top of that, he wins 2.6 aerial duels per game, 6.1 clearances per game and 2.3 interceptions per game, on average, which show he'd be a strong asset to the Gunners.

A potential partnership alongside Shkodran Mustafi in North London would certainly be exciting prospect for the Gunners and a nightmare for opposing attackers.
