Leicester’s season thus far has been a train wreck… well, outside of the Champions League, anyway.

The Foxes pulled off, arguably, the greatest achievement in the history of English football last term when they came from nowhere to win the title, with the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy, N’Golo Kante and Wes Morgan showing the best form of their respective careers.

Alas, just over half a season on and the East Midlands outfit are facing the very realistic prospect of relegation, with Claudio Ranieri’s tinkering not yielding the desired results. As a consequence, the Italian has headaches in every area of the pitch, and winger Demarai Gray has handed him another by putting in a Man of the Match performance vs. Derby in the FA Cup last night…

The 20-year-old was sensational against the Rams, netting a goal late into extra time to make it 3-1 and kill off the tie. Away from this headline-grabber, Gray averaged the best pass completion (91%) of any player to complete the full 120 minutes, while his five successful dribbles were the highest of any Leicester man, and the joint-most of any of the stars involved.

Ranieri faces a must-win match vs. fellow relegation battlers Swansea on the weekend, and Gray has given him quite the dilemma in terms of selecting his XI. After all, he left the wide-man out from the start vs. Man United, and we all know how that game went…
