Michael Keane did stock no harm with dominant display vs Christian Benteke

Burnley defender Michael Keane seems almost certain to leave Turf Moor this summer.

He’s played an intrinsic role in the Clarets’ bid to stave off relegation via water-tight organisation¬†and his consistently impressive form was recognised earlier this season by England manager Gareth Southgate – issuing the 6 foot 3 centre-back outings against Germany and Lithuania.

According to The Telegraph, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton are all interested in signing the 24-year-old this summer and his performance against Crystal Palace in Burnley’s first away win of the season will have done his stock the transfer market no harm at all.

Indeed, as our infographic shows, Keane was nothing short of immense, going toe-to-toe with Christian Benteke so effectively¬†Sam Allardyce eventually had to sub the Belgian battering ram off. In keeping Benteke quiet, Keane won six aerial duels, completed two tackles, two interceptions and made a staggering 14 clearances – whilst also blocking one effort at Tom Heaton’s goal.

But arguably even more impressively, Keane did it all without committing a single foul – something that highlights his maturity at a relatively young age, not to mention his ability to keep a cool head away from home in one of the Premier League’s more intimidating atmospheres at Selhurst Park.

You can certainly see why so many clubs are set to fight it out for his services this summer.
