Mousa Dembele is a real Rolls Royce of a footballer.

He may rarely grab the headlines and he may not be the kind of goal-grabbing all-action midfielder that has become commonplace in the Premier League throughout the last decade or so, but his subtle impact on Tottenham's results has been immense since the start of last season.

Indeed, Dembele is the powerful yet technical presence who keeps things ticking over in midfield, whilst popping up with the odd moment of pure ingenuity here and there, and the Belgium international was at his understated best once again on Sunday, as Spurs recorded a 2-1 win against a plucky Southampton side.

As our infographic shows, Dembele created three chances against the Saints, notching up an assist in the process, and completed three successful dribbles - but he also weighed in defensively, nicking the ball four times via two tackles and two interceptions.

Perhaps most tellingly of how important he's become to Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs side, the 29-year-old finished up with the most touches of the ball of any Lilywhites player.
