Like when you know your ex-girlfriend will be turning up to your mate's Birthday party, Jose Mourinho will be determined to show Chelsea fans what they've been missing when Antonio Conte's side travel to Old Trafford this weekend in Football FanCast's Fixture in Focus.

Mourinho lifted seven trophies during his two spells at Stamford Bridge but left the club under rather unceremonious circumstances last season as Chelsea's catastrophic title defence had them lingering just above the relegation zone ahead of Christmas.

Unfortunately for Mourinho, however, Blues fans have since fallen for a younger, more exotic and exciting model in the form of Antonio Conte, whose introduction of the 3-4-3 system in west London has transformed a side that finished tenth last season back into the Premier League's most dominant force.

Earlier this week, we asked Chelsea fans whether they preferred life under Mourinho or Conte and the results of our exclusive poll saw 70% vote in the current Chelsea gaffer's favour. That may come as some surprise considering Mourinho's instrumental role in building the club into silverware regulars, but the statistics show exactly why.

Of course, Mourinho's returns are taken over a much longer sample, including last season when Chelsea won just four Premier League fixtures prior to the Portuguese's December dismissal. Nonetheless, it's incredibly telling that Conte's brought Chelsea more points per game and more goals per game, with the Blues notching up almost one extra goal every two matches.

In fact, Mourinho's Chelsea tenures only outweigh Conte's first season in terms of goals conceded per match and trophies won. But the Italian looks set to slash the latter deficit this season, with Chelsea not only a shoo-in for the Premier League title but also arguably the favourites to win the FA Cup.
