West Ham target Toure nothing short of immense in Man City’s win over Leicester

It’s been an interesting season for Yaya Toure, one that has seen him battle his way back into Pep Guardiola’s first-team plans after being exiled by his former Barcelona boss at the start of the season – to the extent that he didn’t make his first Premier League appearance until November.

Toure has re-established himself as a key player for the Citizens in recent months but a fine flurry of form could well prove to be his swansong at the Etihad Stadium, with the powerful midfielder yet to agree new terms with his current club and accordingly being eyed for a summer swoop by West Ham – as reported by The Daily Mail earlier this week.

Well, Toure showed exactly what City could lose and West Ham could gain this summer when Leicester City came to town on Saturday, producing the kind of midfield dominance both with and without the ball we’ve come to expect from the veteran playmaker in recent years.

Indeed, Toure finished up with the most touches of the ball of any player on the pitch, laid on two chances for his team-mates and misplaced just 9% of his passes. But he also made massive contributions defensively, weighing in with four tackles, three interceptions and five clearances.

He could prove to be a real coup for West Ham on a free transfer, but nonetheless one that would put a big demand on their wage bill. So, Hammers fans, would you back a summer swoop for Toure? Let us know by voting below…
