Manchester United were poor collectively for much of Monday night’s match against Crystal Palace but Alexis Sanchez was among the worst performers.
As ever, the 119-cap Chilean tried his utmost to make things happen and it was his shot that cannoned off the bar to allow Romelu Lukaku to equalise with the rebound but he gave the ball away a staggering thirty times.
That deflected shot aside, the forward – valued at £63m by transfermarkt.co.uk – really struggled. He started out on the left and was moved into the number 10 role when Marcus Rashford came on at half time but it didn’t make an impact in general play.
His passing was often overhit and wayward while he is still very much out of step with the other United attackers. With that in mind, we asked you whether Sanchez should be dropped by Jose Mourinho for the crunch clash with bitter rivals Liverpool this weekend.
The poll was fairly close, but 42% of United fans feel that the former Arsenal man shouldn’t be on the pitch from the off against Jurgen Klopp’s rampant side. Check out the full result below…
