It comes as no surprise to see Manchester City unbeaten after five games of the new Premier League season, and the same can be said of newly promoted Cardiff City who were expected to loitering near the foot of the table.

Pep Guardiola's side have only dropped points once this season - a 1-1 draw away at Wolves - and should extend their unbeaten league run to six here at the Cardiff City Stadium.

City have not been their swashbuckling, free-scoring selves so far, a 6-1 victory over Huddersfield aside, but Pep's men will certainly be eyeing a big scoreline against a very physical Neil Warnock outfit.

Cardiff's only two points of the season so far have come via goalless draws against Newcastle and Huddersfield, but there's very little chance of them being able to shut out the likes of Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus this weekend.

Cardiff have one of the worst defences in the league at the moment, conceding nine in their opening five games. Man City, on the other hand, are the joint highest scorers in the division with 14 goals scored already.

Only two of Cardiff's fixtures have returned five or more goals and both of those came against Arsenal and Chelsea, which suggests they're struggling to shut out the big boys. Three of Man City's games, meanwhile, have returned at least three goals, all of which came against sides battling in and around the bottom of the division.
