Andre Villas-Boas, Discuss? Odds on the 34-year-old being installed as Harry Redknapp's successor were shortened on Friday with a flurry of news stories saying he'll be in place by the time Monday morning rears it's ugly head. Redknapp bit the bullet a fortnight ago after failing to lead Spurs into the Champions League despite finishing fourth. But what makes chairman Daniel Levy believe Villas-Boas can succeed where the vastly experienced 65-year-old failed? After all he was unceremoniously dumped by Roman Abramovich down the road in West London after eight miserable months in the Stamford Bridge dugout. Saying that the Portuguese coach was treat atrociously by the Blues as he tried to implement new ideas on a team containing players of a similar age unwilling to comply and alter their own principles. Stamping his authority proved to be difficult. But theres still no doubting Villas-Boas is one of Europe's most talented young managers and should Levy give him the chance to flourish he could spark a new era of prosperity at White Hart Lane.
