A bullet to dodge… Liverpool & Man United may want to re-think move

Last night was one to forget for Brazil. Copa America defeat at the hands of Colombia has somewhat dampened the optimism in the Selecao camp, while Neymar’s red card was a major blow heading into a now ‘must get a result’ match against Venezuela – who won their opener.

And as if things were not bad enough, Manchester United and Liverpool linked attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino produced this absolute howler of a miss. With an eventual 1-0 scoreline, had the Hoffenheim ace managed to put the ball between the white sticks and into the net things could have been very different.

However, even though the 23-year-old has notched 23 goals in two seasons in the Bundesliga, he failed to convert, with Arsenal stopper David Ospina stranded, from just 13 yards. Ouch.

It’s by no means concrete proof that Firmino is rubbish, but maybe now Brendan Rodgers and Louis van Gaal are having second thoughts about those potential moves…
