Arsenal and Chelsea fight over ex Red Devil

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba

Arsenal and Chelsea are battling it out for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, with both clubs trying to convince the former Red Devil to leave Italy, reports the Daily Star.

Pogba, 20, only played seven games for Manchester United, but this didn’t stop Juventus from signing the youngster on a free transfer in January 2012 on a four-year deal, where he played a vital part in Juventus’ title winning season last year.

And despite the Frenchman’s contract not expiring until 2016, the Italian champions are desperate for him to sign a contract extension to scare off any potential bids from Premier League giants Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and French champions PSG.

However, Pogba  has stated he is happy in Turin and doesn’t plan on leaving Italy any time soon.

“PSG? I don’t know about that,” Pogba told Le Parisien.

“I am happy at Juventus. I have already told you that.  I just take care of what happens on the pitch, [my agent] Mino Raiola takes care of the rest.”

He has scored eight goals in 49 appearances for the Old Lady since making his début last January.
