Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has denied the club have agreed a £30million deal to sell Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli, saying that he hopes the striker will be going nowhere this summer, according to Sky Sports.
Reports emerged over the weekend that Napoli had agreed a £30million deal to sign the Argentine striker, who has also been attracting serious interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.
However Ancelotti has moved quickly to deny these reports, claiming the forward still has a future at the Bernabeau.
Ancelotti was speaking after his side’s 6-0 rout of Bournemouth in a pre-season friendly at Dean Court, a match which saw Higuain score after coming on as a half time substitute.
Speaking at his post match press conference, Ancelottti denied a deal had been struck with the Italian club.
“Not true, I don’t have any news about this,” he said.
“I think that now we have to speak about Higuain as a Real Madrid player. He is a fantastic player and a fantastic striker who took one minute to score tonight.
“I spoke to him this week. He is a Real Madrid player and until we have news we have to consider him as a Real Madrid player and I would like him to stay with us.
“He is very important to us and nothing else – it is not my business to judge the price of a player.”
