The young Austrian has emerged as one of Europe’s top rising talents following a series of impressive domestic performances.
This has alerted a number of top clubs from across the continent, including the Arsenal and Liverpool.
Arsene Wenger is believed to be eyeing defensive additions ahead of the January transfer window, after addressing his attacking concerns with a move for Mesut Ozil.
Hinteregger has caught his attention and could be the subject of a winter offer.
Brendan Rodgers has also been linked with a move, with the future of Martin Skrtel far from clear.
Juventus are another side in the running, but with competition for a first-team berth in Turin high, a switch to the Premier League may be more appealing.
Hinteregger – who is comfortable at centre-back and left-back – has forced his way into the Austrian international set up of late, although he is yet to win a cap.
Salzburg are desperate to keep the 21-year-old, and have tied him down with a contract that runs until 2018.
However, the starlet may be keen to move on and test himself in a top league, which could force the energy drink-backed outfit to sell.
Could Martin Hinteregger be a Premier League star?
