Arsenal and Manchester United join rivals in tussle for Belgian starlet

Zakaria Bakkali (Arsenal)Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are all battling for the signature of PSV Eindhoven wonderkid Zakaria Bakkali, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The 17-year-old Belgian has recently emerged as one of the continent’s top talents after breaking into the Eredivise giants’ first-team.

A magnificent three goal haul against NEC Nijmegan earlier this season – making him the youngest ever player in the history of Holland’s top flight to achieve such a feat – has alerted a number of clubs to his abilities.

Laws in the Netherlands mean that Bakkali is unable to pen a pro contract until he is 18, which has left the door ajar for top clubs to swoop.

The Premier League trio are just a few of Europe’s elite sides looking at the teenager.

PSV are desperate to keep him, but may be unable to do so if he actively pursues a big move.

Bakkali turns 18 this January, and is set to be offered a lucrative deal and the promise of guaranteed action to stay in Eindhoven.

Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with his signature for some time, but the Manchester duo have also recently entered the race.

Could Zakaria Bakkali be develop into a top star in the Premier League?
