Arsenal and Tottenham join race for French starlet

Paul-Georges Ntep (Auxerre)Arsenal, Tottenham and Aston Villa are all tracking Auxerre striker Paul-Georges Ntep, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The Premier League trio have been alerted by the 21-year-old’s excellent start to the season, in which he has netted 12 goals for his club and the French U-21 side in 20 outings.

Despite plying his trade in the second tier, the Cameroon-born forward is hailed as one of the nation’s top rising stars.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Villa are all thought to be in the race, and are rumoured to have scouts assessing Ntep.

But, they may face a battle with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-German.

The Qatari-backed Parisians are keen on the starlet, and see him as an ideal player to draft in as they plan for the future.

Ntep has just over 18 months remaining on his current contract and is believed to be on the market for around £2m.

The hitman is a product of Auxerre’s much-praised academy set-up – a system which has produced the likes of Eric Cantona, Djibril Cisse and Bacary Sagna through the years.

Ntep’s versatility is one of his major strengths, with the ace able to occupy positions on either flank or as a centre-forward.

Should Arsenal, Tottenham, or Aston Villa move for Paul-Georges Ntep?
