Pato has come under mounting pressure from management and supporters at the Brazilian club after a string of below par performances, with some suggesting he is already thinking ahead to his reported January move.
It has even gone as far as the club president Mario Gobbi having his say, after he criticised Pato for a recent performance which saw the former AC Milan forward miss a penalty.
He went on to insist the 24-year-old needs to mature in order to make the step forward at the Sao Paulo club.
“He has to have maturity, see his errors, knows what I and the technical staff want,” Gobbi said.
“Pato needs that maturity to see his faults, to absorb, and not respond to criticism.”
The Brazilian admitted last week he was the subject of a summer bid from Tottenham, a move he rejected in order to stay in his homeland.
The forward only returned to Brazil in January, ending a six year stay with Italian giants AC Milan.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham are thought to be monitoring the situation, with both clubs eager to add striking reinforcements in the January transfer window.
Andre Villas-Boas wants to add another top class forward to offer support to £26million man Roberto Soldado, while Arsene Wenger is desperate to add another striker to take the load off Olivier Giroud, with only Nicklas Bendtner and youngster Yaya Sanogo his other striking options at present.
