The Premier League duo have been playing close attention to the 21-year-old in recent weeks following his emergence as one of La Liga’s hottest young forwards.
Alcacer has been a regular in the Valencia team so far this term, netting on four occasions, and has also registered his first goal for Spain after being called up for his debut last month.
Both Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger were rumoured to be ready to trigger the release clause in his contract – thought to be between £10m – £15m, but the starlet has confirmed that he wants to stay with Los Che:
“Do not bother me with this story, I know what I want. When the time comes I will sign a renewal.” He is quoted by The Express.
“For now I play and when everything’s ready I’ll put the signature on the contract.”
Alcacer is a product of the Valencia’s youth set-up and is considered to be a fans’ favourite already.
The Spaniards are now in a position to keep their star men with their new ownership set-up having banished the financial uncertainty that led to the sales of Juan Mata, David Silva and David Villa.
