Arsenal have moved ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Petr Cech, The Daily Star reports.
Although both clubs have enquired about the Chelsea stalwart, it is believed he would prefer the move to the Gunners in order to stay in London.
Arsenal may be Cech’s preferred move out of the two English clubs, but Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly interested in purchasing the 32 year old stopper.
Since he has fallen behind Thibaut Courtois in the Stamford Bridge goalkeeping pecking order, he may be available for £10m.
With Arsene Wenger under pressure to bring in players capable of bringing the league title back to The Emirates Stadium, a goalkeeper will be one of his main targets.
The main stumbling block for Cech’s move across London seems to be coming from PSG, who are happy to splash the cash and better whatever Arsenal are offering, as well as matching the Czech international’s current wages.
