Arsenal fans aim homophobic abuse at ex-Chelsea star

Arsenal fans we’re videoed before their FA Cup semi-final with Aston Villa chanting a homophobic song about ex-Chelsea defender Ashley Cole. Cole, of course, also played for Arsenal themselves but this didn’t stop these Gunners fans aiming inappropriate language at their former man.

The video of the Gooners in question can be seen below:

Arsenal fans can be seen clearly heard to be singing “Ashley Cole is a Chelsea batty boy” to Lily Allen’s song ‘Smile’. It’s demonstrations such as this that show that football still has a big problem with homophobia.

Arsenal beat Reading 2-1 thanks to two Alexis Sanchez goals but needed extra-time to do so. The Gunners will face either Liverpool or Aston Villa in the final of the FA Cup on the 30th of May in Wembley.

Ashley Cole currently plays for Roma in the Serie A and has represented England 107 times at international level.
