In the the usual Monday Night Football analysis on Sky Sports with Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher – which is always really insightful, by the way – the former Man United and Liverpool defenders singled out Victor Wanyama as an important player for Southampton tonight in the Saints clash with Manchester United.
With Morgan Schneiderlin seeming to be the one all the Premier League ‘big boys’ want, the former Celtic midfielder’s contribution has gone a little under the radar. However, with the Frenchman absent tonight, the Kenyan had his time in the limelight with Sky Sports putting together a highlights reel demonstrating Wanyama’s strength, vision and eye for a goal – who can forget that worldie against Hull City?!
A couple of minutes viewing of Wanyama’s physicality in the middle of the park – which included a clip of him brushing off Alexis Sanchez with ease – was all Arsenal fans needed before they made calls for Arsene Wenger to make a move for the midfielder in January.
Arsenal would kill for a Wanyama.

In my eyes a defender & a decent dm (e.g.Wanyama) are enough to bring us back on the winning track in January. #AFC
