Arsenal fans slam Wilshere after poor performance against Southampton

Arsenal fans were not happy with midfielder Jack Wilshere after their edgy 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday.

The 26-year-old played 27 minutes as a substitute for youngster Reiss Nelson at the Emirates and didn’t exactly set the world alight.

Wilshere, who was back in the recent England squad before pulling out through injury, was dispossessed four times and was guilty of a number of poor passes.

He was also involved in the incident which saw Southampton defender Jack Stephens shown a straight red card in injury time.

Stephens threw the former Bournemouth man to the floor in frustration after having his shirt tugged as the Saints looked for a breakaway equaliser.

Wilshere, who was booked for the shirt tug, has still not agreed a new deal at the Gunners with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
