Arsenal flop set for surprise January exit, loan switch on the cards

Arsenal flop Mathieu Debuchy could be the subject of a loan bid from West Brom in January, according to the Daily Star.

The 30-year-old full-back as struggled to hold down a regular first team spot at the Emirates Stadium since signing from Newcastle in July 2014.

Despite a string of injuries hindering his chances of becoming a regular for Arsene Wenger’s side, the France international has now lost his place to Hecto Bellerin and looks unlikely to significantly add to his 12 Premier League appearances for the Gunners in the near future.

West Brom boss Tony Pulis is reportedly in the market for a full-back this January and the Daily Star claim he is preparing a move to offer Debuchy regular first team football between now and the end of the season.

However, Arsenal may not be willing to do further business with the Baggies as they’re reportedly unhappy with the way they have handled youngster Serge Gnabry’s loan spell at the Hawthorns – Tony Pulis has previously claimed he intends to send him back to Arsenal in January after being unimpressed with the German’s lack of ability at this level.
