Liverpool and Arsenal have been handed a major boost in the race for Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with the player’s agent having revealed that the midfield ace wants to move at the end of the season.
BVB’s poor start to the season has contributed to speculation surrounding a host of their big stars – including Mats Hummels and Marco Reus – with relegation a genuine worry for the 2013 Champions League finalists.
And one of the latest names to have been put in the mix for an exit is Armenia international Mkhitaryan.
The versatile attacking midfielder only joined the club in 2013 from Shakhtar Donetsk, and despite enjoying a successful period in Ukraine, his time in the Bundesliga has not been so fruitful.
Now his agent, Mino Raiola, has stated that his client is looking to leave Dortmund at the end of the season:
“Henrikh wants to leave Dortmund at the end of the season,” he is quoted by The Metro.
“We will have to wait and see what we can do.”
Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with the 26-year-old of late, while Serie A champions Juventus are also in the mix.
The Reds came close to signing Mkhitaryan from Shakhtar in the summer of 2013, but missed out on him.
