Arsenal and Liverpool target Granit Xhaka has been tipped to leave Borussia Monchengladbach by their sporting director Max Eberl.
The 23-year-old is also being monitored by the Gunners and the Reds, as well as current Premier League champions Chelsea, with the chase for his services likely to be stepped up in the summer.
Xhaka even told Tor Fabrik (via The Express) that if he did decide to join the Gunners, he would want the number 34, the jersey that is currently being worn by midfielder Francis Coquelin.
The Reds are also said to be in the mix, with manager Jurgen Klopp known to have a deep knowledge of the Bundesliga following his time with Dortmund.
Eberl admitted that his side have already lost a number of key players in the past and could be facing a tough task retaining the services of Xhaka this summer.
“We have lost players like Reus and Ter Stegen, Kruse and Kramer,” he told Bild.
“In the summer perhaps Granit Xhaka will go.
“We need a good mix between buying and selling to take the next step.”
The defensive midfielder has already registered 23 appearances in all competitions this season, so far managing to score three goals while providing another one assist.
