But, even with Lyon rumoured to be in poor financial health, Aulas is adamant that the club’s star man, or any key players, will not be leaving the Stade Gerland anytime soon:
“We have prepared so that there are no departures and it is certain to be that way,” he told Olympique Lyon TV.
“The return from injury of Yoann Gourcuff, Clément Grenier and Gueïda Fofana will be the internal transfer window for Lyon.
“There will be no signings as it would be financially nonsensical, but also mental. The players who are leaving for the African Cup of Nations must find their place in Lyon when they return.”
