Arsenal & Man United halted as French champions pushing for striker stay

Arsenal and Manchester United could miss out on the signing of top target Edinson Cavani after Paris Saint-Germain are ready to ensure his stay, RMC reports.

The 29-year-old has been linked with an exit over the past few months amid speculation that he was unhappy playing under manager Laurent Blanc.

However, with star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic ready to leave this summer, PSG are now ready to make Cavani their main striker heading into the new campaign with a proposed contract extension.

Juventus are also amongst the clubs keen on the services of the Uruguayan international as they look to lure him back to the Serie A following previous spells with Palermo and Napoli.

His goal scoring form has attracted interest from a host of clubs, but the Ligue 1 champions will be hoping they can convince him to reject a switch elsewhere.

He managed to register 51 appearances in all competitions for his side this term, so far scoring 24 goals while providing another seven assists.
