Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are all set to miss out on Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, with reports from The Express claiming that Real Madrid are close to tying up a deal for the forward.
The Germany international looks set to leave BVB in 2015, with a well-publicised £20m release clause due to kick in at the end of the season.
Although he’s available for a bargain rate in a little over six months, a host of clubs are keen to pay a little over the odds in January to land him early, with Liverpool, United and Arsenal near the front of a long queue.
However, they are set to be disappointed, with reports claiming that Reus is close to sealing a deal with Real.
The European champions are desperate to land the versatile ace, and respected FIFA agent Francois Gallardo has revealed that negotiations are at an advanced stage:
“Real Madrid will sign Reus and operation will close within days.
“It is a very important player, if it comes to Real Madrid would be the icing for long-term project.
“He is following in a while and you want the best clubs, but he said no to all but the Real Madrid.”
