Arsenal on alert as Ivorian remains open to Premier League switch

Lille forward Salomon KalouEx-Chelsea attacker Salomon Kalou has revealed that he would like to return to the Premier League in the future.

The Ivorian international was linked with moves to both West Ham and Arsenal during the closing stages of the summer transfer window, but elected to stay with Lille.

The 28-year-old enjoyed six years at Stamford Bridge, helping the Blues to claim Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League glory during his time in West London.

Despite being a key member of Lille’s first-team and having rejected a move to join the Hammers prior to deadline day, Kalou says that he would be open to a return to England in the future:

“I am happy at Lille but I could return to the Premier League in the future. I had the chance to go there this summer but I decided to stay in France.” He is quoted by The Mirror.

“I think Lille accepted an offer from West Ham but I decided to stay, Lille have been good for me and my challenge is to get myself at the top of my game in World Cup year.”

Kalou joined Chelsea from Feyenoord in 2006 and quickly became a key player under Jose Mourinho during ‘The Special One’s’ first spell as the club.

In 2012 he was released by the club and completed a free transfer to Lille.
