Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech is a transfer target for Roma following the departure of Alisson, according to The Sun.
The 36-year-old joined Arsenal in 2015 and has been their first-choice goalkeeper ever since, but new boss Unai Emery has just signed Bernd Leno who will likely oust him from the no.1 spot.
With Roma looking for a new man between the sticks to replace Alisson who has just joined Liverpool, and according to the report, the Italian club’s sporting director Monchi wants someone experienced to marshal a young defence.
Arsenal currently have three goalkeepers on their books who are good enough to play in the Premier League.
They could lose one and still be comfortable and with Cech nearing the end of his career, it might not be the worst idea to cash in now instead of letting him sit on the bench for a year.
If they do wish to sell him, it would make much more sense to sell him to a foreign club rather than a rival.
Emery should put his faith in Leno and take the money while they can still get it for Cech.
