Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has warned interested clubs that goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is perfectly settled at White Hart Lane and is not looking to leave.
The France international has emerged as one of the Premier League’s top stoppers since his arrival in north London from Lyon over two years ago, and his impressive displays have alerted top clubs such as Real Madrid and even bitter rivals Arsenal.
Although content at ‘The Lane’, Lloris has hinted in the past that he wants to play regular Champions League football, and with Spurs having failed to book a spot in the competition since the days of Harry Redknapp, his future has been the subject of some doubt due to this.
However, Pochettino – who has been in charge of Tottenham since the summer – believes that his No. 1 is “very happy” at the club:
“He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he is happy here, very happy.” He is quoted by the London Evening Standard.
“It would be difficult for another club to get him, because of the fact he is happy here. Maybe in the future his mind is on playing in the Champions League with Tottenham.”
