Arsenal & Tottenham handed transfer boost

Tottenham and Arsenal have been handed a massive boost in their respective pursuits of Luiz Gustavo, after the midfielder admitted that if his by-out clause is activated he may move.

The Brazilian ace – who was linked with the Gunners during the last window – only joined Wolfsburg over the summer from Bayern Munich, but a certain fee could trigger a release in his deal with the Bundesliga club.

He left the reigning German champions in search of regular playing time, and has, so far, had a fruitful time with his new side.

His fine displays have led to rumours that he could be set for a swift move, with Barcelona believed to be interested.

Although Gustavo says that he is happy at Wolfsburg, he went on to suggest that we would consider a move if his release clause is activated:

“I have a long contract which includes a buyout fee, and if anyone wants to pay that, they can sign me.” He is quoted by The Express.

Gustavo also said that he is flattered by Barca’s rumoured interest:

“It’s always good to have your name linked to Barcelona,

“This is the third time there has been interest from them.”

The figure in question is said to be around £15m-£20m.
