Probable Lineups...

Liverpool Southampton

Southampton (4-4-1-1): Forster, Yoshida, Fonte, Alderweireld, Bertrand, Ward-Prowse, Wanyama, Davis, Mane, Tadic, Pelle

Southampton were able to keep Chelsea at bay when the league leaders played out a 1-1 draw at the St. Mary's on Sunday, and will be hoping to do the same for the visit of Arsenal on New Year's Day. Tied on points with their next opponents, the Saints will hope to stay above the Gunners to keep up their unlikely challenge for a Champions League spot. Winger Saido Mane is hitting form but this will be his last game before the Senegalese international heads off to the African Nations Cup. Ronald Koeman can now recall the services of Ryan Bertrand, who was ineligible for the Chelsea game due to terms in his loan contract.

Arsenal (4-3-3): Szczesny, Debuchy, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Cazorla, Flamini, Rosicky, Sanchez, Podolski, Welbeck

Of the top six clubs, Arsenal were the only side to win on Sunday which pushes the Gunners up the table to fifth, but they are now tied on points with fourth place Southampton. Arsene Wenger's men managed to hold off a fightback from West Ham United to take the points at Upton Park. They will have another tough game when they travel to the St. Mary's stadium to take on the Saints, who managed to earn a draw with league leaders Chelsea last weekend. Olivier Giroud's suspension means Danny Welbeck will continue up front flanked by Alexis Sanchez and possibly Lukas Podolski, who could be playing his last game for the club.

A fan manages to capture Alexis Sanchez score a marvellous free kick against Southampton earlier this season... the Saints will have to watch out for the in-form Chilean once again!
