Arsenal, West Ham… SIX of the Premier League’s overpaid players

There are few industries where the public on a daily basis heavily scrutinises the salaries of those working in them.

Very rarely will you have a chat about football with your mates in the pub without someone referring to a player’s obscene weekly salary.

And Wayne Rooney’s new contract at Manchester United, which is worth a reported £300,000-a-week, means the subject of player’s salaries is set to be the hot topic once more.

Many will argue that Rooney’s influence on United’s success over the years means he deserves to be on that sort of money, but there are players in the Premier League who appear to be struggling to justify the money their club’s are currently paying them.
