Arsenal will sign Sami Khedira from Real Madrid in January, after the German international chose the Gunners over Chelsea.
The Daily Star suggest Khedira, who rejected a new contract offer from Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti in the summer, will move to the Emirates in a cut-price £10million move when the window opens in 2015.
Jose Mourinho, who masterminded his side’s 2-0 win over Arsenal earlier today, was reportedly keen on a reunion with his former player but the midfielder wasn’t keen on a move to Stamford Bridge.
The former Bayern Munich player has found first-team options hard to come by this season, with the arrival of Toni Kroos from the Bundesliga pushing Khedira further down the pecking order.
With Mikel Arteta suffering a couple of spells on the sidelines already this campaign and Mathieu Flamini not viewed as a long-term alternative, first-team football is something Arsenal can more or less guarantee the German.
