Lyon’s impressive forward Nabil Fekir has revealed that he will consider a move away from Stade Gerland next year.
The young Frenchman was one the Ligue 1 side’s most impressive performers as they mounted a serious title challenge last term, and has been linked with Arsenal on the back of his fine showings.
While Alexandre Lacazette grabbed the bulk of the headlines, Fekir, 22, weighed in with 13 goals and nine assists in league action, making him a more potent creative threat than his team-mate.
And the £25m-rated star has put potential suitors on red alert by claiming that, although he wants to repay Lyon’s faith in him by representing them in Champions League action this term, he is already looking to the future with a move away from France on his mind:
“This season I have to back up what I have done,” he is quoted by France Football, via the Daily Star.
“I have to do everything I can to continue progressing.
“There is also the Champions League. I want to give back to OL what the club has given me.
“To be frank, I would prefer an experience overseas after OL.”
Fekir is a skilful and versatile attacker, who is able to play on either flank, as a ‘No.10’ or as a main striker.
