Alex Iwobi has not exactly set the world alight since breaking through the Arsenal academy in 2015.
The winger, rated at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, has been hit and miss over the last few years, but the Gunners continue to keep faith with the 22-year-old.
In fairness to the Nigeria international, he is still in the early stages of his career, but his goal return is not the best having scored just eight times in 65 Premier League outings.
Iwobi has been a better provider than goalscorer as he has created 12 assists in the top flight so far.
The attack-minded player predominantly plays on the left wing, but he can switch to the other side if needs be, or play just behind the striker.
During Arsene Wenger’s final season in charge, Iwobi started 22 league games and came off the bench in a further four, scoring three goals and recording five assists.
It seems that new manager Unai Emery is keen to keep hold of the Nigerian as The Mirror reported on Sunday that the winger is due to sign a new contract until 2022.
The publication adds that Iwobi has been targeted by Lazio, Everton and AC Milan, but has chosen to stay at the Emirates.
The news has divided opinion within the Arsenal fanbase, with some happy to give the attacker another chance while others were keen for him to leave.
