Arsenal’s summer transfer window was… erm… disappointing! The Gunners finished the annual flurry as the only side in any of Europe’s top five leagues to fail to sign a single outfield player, with Petr Cech – albeit a great signing – the only first-team addition at the Emirates Stadium.
Supporters didn’t exactly take the perceived failings too well, and the mood among Gooners may be even more toxic after this afternoon’s antics. Why? you may ask, well a certain Lorenzo Insigne – who was linked with Arsenal over the summer and through 2014 – has scored a terrific goal for Napoli.
The pint-sized winger whipped a delicious right-footed effort from outside the box into the back of the net against Empoli, which is just the sort of individual brilliance the London club have missed for some of the opening weeks of the season!
