We haven’t seen much of Olivier Giroud this season, with the Frenchman falling behind Alexis Sanchez in the pecking order as first choice striker and also suffering from injury issues at the same time, but the former Montpellier man may have just signed his own death certificate.
In the latest video on Arsenal’s YouTube channel, Giroud was answering questions issued by his compatriot Laurent Koscielny and gave one he instantly regretted, as he challenged UFC’s featherweight champion to a fight.
“McGregor, when you want. Okay… I’m dead.”
Koscielny then asked how long Giroud reckons he could last in the octagon with Conor McGregor and Giroud’s answer of 10 seconds is still a little ambitious, as we’ve seen the French striker go down very easily during his time in the Premier League and think that the Irish fighter would quickly put him away.
Given that Giroud is fighting to make his comeback from injury and establish himself within Arsenal’s first-team once again, fighting McGregor probably isn’t the best idea as it would likely put him out for the season.
We admire his
stupidity ambition, though.
