Olivier Giroud is backing Arsenal to finish the season strongly and qualify for the Champions League.
The Gunners looked in disarray after some poor results left them way off the pace in the race for Champions League football, but just like last season, they are starting to pick up with the finishing straight in sight.
Saturday’s demolition of Reading coupled with other results going their way means Arsene Wenger’s men are just two points behind Chelsea in fourth place, while they are only four behind Tottenham in third and have a game in hand on their arch rivals.
Arsenal are gathering momentum and Giroud says the spirit in the camp is high ahead of the run in.
“We are confident,” Giroud said of the belief in the dressing room. “We are used to finishing the championship well. And again this season we will do the same.
“I trust in our qualities, so I really think we can make fourth and maybe even third place if we continue to play like we did (against Reading).
“We are playing well. We succeed to score lots of goals. However, we need to be more concentrated when we are defending, because we need more clean sheets because we dominate the games.
“We want to be ambitious and keep our focus.”
