Arsenal ace gives Wenger timely boost

Aaron Ramsey has given Arsenal fans and manager Arsene Wenger a timely boost by revealing that he should be fit for this weekend’s crunch game with Manchester City.

The Welshman damaged his ankle during his nation’s 2-1 win over Andorra last night, leading to concerns that he may miss the big clash with the champions on Saturday.

The European minnows’ artificial pitch was credited as having played a part in the episode, as Ramsey went over awkwardly to hand Wenger a headache.

But the Frenchman need not be concerned now, with the 23-year-old having revealed that he should be fighting fit for the City game:

“I’ll be alright – the pitch was very hard. There’s no give in it so I rolled my ankle a bit.” He is quoted by the Daily Star.

“Hopefully it will be nothing and I’ll be available for Saturday.

“These are the games you want to play in and I’m looking forward to it.”

Ramsey has already hit two goals for Arsenal in the Premier League this season and is expected to play a pivotal role in their midfield at the Emirates Stadium in two days’ time.

Mesut Ozil also returned to training today.
