Everton are pondering a move for Arsenal defender Calum Chambers should John Stones eventually leave the club, report the Daily Mirror.
The Toffees face growing interest in their 21-year old centre-half from the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea all prepared to spend up to £45m on him.
Those at Goodison Park stood firm over the summer as Chelsea repeatedly made bids for the defender, but could face losing him in the summer as potential suitors grow.
Now, they could be prepared to target Gunners utility man Calum Chambers should they lose the former Barnsley youngster.
Chambers, who moved to North London from Southampton last year, has struggled to push on as expected at the Emirates behind the likes of Hector Bellerin, Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.
The 20-year old has only featured in half the games his side have played this season, and is believed to be open to the idea of a move.
Like Stones, the former Saint is an England international able to play at right-back, more centrally or even in defensive midfield.
Roberto Martinez is reportedly keeping an eye over his situation at the Emirates as he makes contingency plans should Stones leave.
