Arsenal are on the verge of snapping up Bolton’s Rob Holding, with Squawka claiming that the Gunners have agreed a £1.5m fee, plus add-ons, for the defender.
The 20-year-old was part of the Trotters side that was relegated from the Championship to League One last season, yet he managed to shine in what was a turbulent campaign at the Macron Stadium.
Holding, who has been aligned with Everton of late, has been a mooted Arsenal target for some time, and reports claim that a £1.5m, which could rise to £2m with add-ons, fee has been settled with The Wanderers.
Holding, who has been capped twice by England at U-21 level, is now on the verge of becoming Arsene Wenger’s third addition of the summer, following deals for Granit Xhaka and Takuma Asano.
The young centre-back featured 26 times in the league last season, making an impressive 86 interceptions while winning 45% of his tackles.
