Arsenal agree to cut-price exit for 125-cap international star

Arsenal have agreed a €2m (£1.4m) fee with Galatasaray for Lukas Podolski’s signature, according to reports from Aksam.

The Gunners shipped the 125-cap Germany international out on loan to Inter Milan for the back end of last season, and he appears to be surplus to requirements under Arsene Wenger.

Reports suggest that Podolski has agreed personal terms with Gala ahead of a deal, and that a fee of £1.4m will be paid to the London club.

The 30-year-old’s Arsenal salary was estimated to be worth around £100,000-per-week, and with the levels of cash at the top end of Turkish football he’s likely to be paid to the same degree in Istanbul.

Podolski helped Germany to World Cup glory last summer, but upon his return to Arsenal for the start of the 2014/15 campaign it became apparent that he didn’t feature in Wenger’s plans, which was reflected by a lack of game time.
