Arsenal ahead of Liverpool in amazing 30-goal star hunt

Arsenal are currently firmly ahead of Premier League rivals Liverpool in the race for Lyon’s star striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports from Metro.

The France international is currently one of European football’s hottest forwards, with his 30 goals in all competitions last term a more than respectable tally.

Lacazette kept his Lyon side in the running for the Ligue 1 title until the season reached its climax, when Paris Saint-Germain – one of the richest teams on the planet – pulled away, but he did scoop the division’s Player of the Year award.

Liverpool and Arsenal are both believed to be keen on the 23-year-old, however, reports suggest that Champions League football is likely to be a big factor in the eventual outcome of the saga, and the Gunners can offer just that after finished third in the Premier League in 2014/15.

Stade Gerland president Jean-Michel Aulas is thought to be willing to accept offers of £29m plus bonuses for his team’s prize asset.
